From invisible to discoverable

A sketch of a product business that people find by its name and miss when they search the problem. Not a client. This is not a published client result.

These labels are the measures that would be checked. No figure is published, because no client result is on this page.

How client-reported, platform-measured and modelled figures are told apart — and what this page will not claim — is set out in the case study standards.

01

The situation

This page is not a client result. It describes a product business that has grown on referrals and is returned in search for its own name, and for little else.

The searches that matter in that situation are the comparisons, the alternatives, and the questions a sales call already answers. Those pages, when they exist, often belong to competitors and review sites.

02

What would be checked first

Whether commercial pages are actually indexed, or whether the site hides them behind client-side rendering.

Which searches are close to a buying decision, and which are only the product name. Recorded sales calls can supply the objections. They are a research input, not a published result.

03

What the work would include

Indexation first, if that is the block. Then pages organised around the buying decision, with comparison and alternatives pages ahead of a general blog, because those are closer to an enquiry.

Internal links so a commercial page is not buried. Copy taken from what the business actually says on a call, so the page is specific to that product.

04

What is not on this page

No client agreed to this write-up. No sessions, demo requests, or keyword counts are published. The labels above are the measures that would be checked. They are not figures.

What the work is for

No number is published.

  • The aim is that a visitor can read the objection before a call
  • The aim is that reporting can separate non-brand search from searches for the company name
  • The aim is a set of pages that stays up after the first month

Tell me where search stands for the business. I will say which part of the work matters first, and what it would take.
