SEO for solar companies that install, not just advertise.
The search is a system for a roof in a city. The conversion is a site survey, not a PDF.
Starting fee ₹40,000 a month, plus GST. The column marked on this page is that scope. The other published columns are below.
One installation can carry the retainer.
The Financial Express, on 7 October 2026, reported an Indian Solar Manufacturers Association estimate: a 3 kW residential rooftop system costs ₹1.50 lakh to ₹2.10 lakh, with a base case of ₹2.05 lakh, and premium installations 25 to 40 percent more. The Centre’s PM Surya Ghar subsidy, as that article states it, is ₹78,000 for a system of 3 kW or more and is paid to the household. The installer’s contract is the system price, not the subsidised balance the homeowner pays.
Interpretation: one closed 3 kW job, at that base-case price, is about three times one month of this retainer. A commercial roof is a larger contract again. Recommendation: an installer who closes systems, and who can staff a survey, can fund this work. A trader who only ships panels to other installers has a different search problem and should not buy the local column.
No substantial study of Indian solar-installer marketing budgets was identified in the sources reviewed on 11 October 2026. The argument here is the value of a closed installation, which is a recommendation, not a measured share of revenue.
Solar sites collect brochures. Installers need surveys.
Failure modes of installer marketing. Not a claim about every solar company.
- 01
Residential and commercial are one page
The buyer, the roof, and the contract are different. One page that tries to be both is unclear to each of them.
- 02
The subsidy is written as a promise
Eligibility depends on the household, the discom and the scheme. A page that guarantees the subsidy creates a sales problem the SEO did not need to create.
- 03
Cities the crew never visits
A district page with the name swapped is a doorway. It is refused, including when it would add URLs.
- 04
A catalogue instead of an offer
Wattages do not tell a household whether this company will come to the roof. The enquiry has to be a survey.
What the installer retainer includes.
Cities the company installs in. Equipment the company actually fits.
- 01
Residential and commercial, kept apart
Two offers when both are real. One offer when the company only does houses. The other page is not invented.
- 02
City pages with a crew behind them
A city is added when the company installs there. The list is maintained. It is not expanded to fill a map.
- 03
Subsidy copy that points at the portal
The public scheme can be explained. The household is told to confirm eligibility. A payback year is not promised.
- 04
The profile and the phone
The Google profile matches the service area and the number that books surveys.
- 05
Survey requests, counted
A lead is a survey request with a phone number and a location, or a call. A PDF download is not reported as a result.
How an SEO engagement runs
Keyword research throws out city names the installer cannot staff, even when the query is large.
- 01
Audit
The site, the Google profile, and whether a call or a form is actually counted. The reply says if search is the wrong channel.
- 02
Research
The searches that match services the business sells. Competitor pages are read for structure. Their claimed results are not treated as facts.
- 03
Strategy
Which pages to publish, which to refuse, and which pricing column the scope fits. Written down before the monthly work starts.
- 04
Implementation
Technical fixes, internal links, the profile, and the pages. Anything that states a professional fact is corrected by the client before it goes live.
- 05
Check
Forms, the phone number, redirects from old URLs, and schema that matches the visible page. No review markup is added to invent a rating.
- 06
Report
A monthly read of calls and form fills, including what did not move. The report is the work. It is not a ranking promise.
The survey is the conversion. Everything else is in service of it.
Found is the city and the system size. Trusted is a real installation geography and named equipment. Chosen is a booked survey: name, phone, city, rough bill or roof, and a time. If the current site is a catalogue of panels with no survey form, the constraint is the website. That is website design for solar companies.
An installer selling across many cities that it genuinely serves may need Growth SEO at ₹65,000 a month, plus GST. The local fee assumes a footprint that can be maintained. No generation figure is guaranteed.
Pages an installer site needs.
Service area first. Specifications second.
- 01
Home
Residential, commercial, or both, and the cities.
- 02
Residential
What a survey is, a typical system size, and that subsidy eligibility is checked on the national portal.
- 03
Commercial
Only if the company does those roofs. A different buyer and a different contract.
- 04
Equipment
Modules and inverters the company installs. No brand it does not fit.
- 05
Book a survey
Name, phone, city, rough bill. A time the company can keep.
Content that does not invent a saving.
No traffic forecast. A savings calculator is not a default deliverable.
Example pages, and the search they can answer. No traffic forecast.
| Page | Purpose | Search intent |
|---|---|---|
| City page | Show that a crew installs there. | Local commercial. The household wants an installer, not a national brand essay. |
| System size | Explain a common residential size without a promised bill. | Commercial. Price curiosity, answered without a guarantee. |
| Subsidy explainer | Describe the public scheme and link to the portal. | Informational. Eligibility is not decided on this site. |
| Commercial roofs | A separate offer for a business buyer. | Commercial. A different contract from a house. |
No installation result is published here.
No solar client, generation figure, or enquiry count is published on this page. The roof image was generated for this site. It is not a job this practice worked on.
No substantial study of organic cost per lead for Indian solar installers was identified in the sources reviewed on 11 October 2026. USD package prices from agencies outside this market were not converted into a fee.
Published client work has to meet the case study standard. This page does not invent one to fill the gap.
One installer, the cities they cover.
A multi-state footprint with a real page per city is usually the Growth column.
GST on these services is 18%. The local column has a three-month minimum. The larger columns have six. Domain tools and advertising spend are extra. A ranking is not included.
Monthly retainer, billed in advance, excluding GST. No setup fee. The number in the column is the fee for that scope. Reporting and a strategy call are included at every tier.

Local + Website SEO
One installer and the cities the crew actually works.
₹40,000 a month, plus GST
Own the searches happening within a few miles of you — the map pack, the service pages and the reviews that decide the click — with the website's own SEO fixed on the same retainer rather than quoted as a second one.
- Website SEO included: technical crawl, speed, schema, titles and internal linking — the fixes made, not handed over as a report
- Google Business Profile optimisation and weekly posts
- Citation audit, cleanup and ongoing consistency across the directories that matter
- Review generation system and response templates your team can run
- Location and service page build-out — written, published and interlinked
- Map-pack rank tracking by grid, so you can see the streets you win and the ones you do not
- 2 locally-targeted content pieces a month
- Monthly report counting calls, form fills and direction requests, plus a strategy call to read it with you
What you are paying forA local footprint that is actually clean — profile, citations, reviews — and a page for every service and area you sell to. The website SEO sits inside this fee, so the technical work an audit would flag is done rather than quoted. You keep the pages and the profile whether or not the retainer continues.
3-month minimum. Further locations are scoped on the same terms, not copied in as a flat extra.

Questions installers ask.
How much does SEO for a solar company cost?
₹40,000 a month, plus GST, for one installer on the Local + Website SEO scope, covering the cities the company actually installs in. A multi-state installer with a real page per city is usually the Growth plan at ₹65,000 a month, plus GST. The fee does not include the cost of leads bought on ads.
Will the pages promise a subsidy or a payback period?
No. The pages can describe the public scheme and point households to the national portal. A subsidy, a unit of generation, or a payback year is not promised, because those depend on the roof and the discom.
Do you build a page for every city in India?
No. A city page is published when the company installs there. Swapping the city name across districts the crew never visits is a doorway site, and it is refused.
What counts as a lead?
A site-survey request with a phone number and a location, or a call. A PDF download, with no way to visit the roof, is not treated as a result.
Send the site. The reply says whether this retainer fits.
If the business is outside solar, or this scope is the wrong size, the reply says so. There is no calendar on this page. The form is the request.
Replies usually go out within one working day.
